Cooperative School Readiness Programs

The School Readiness Program adheres closely to California State Preschool Learning Foundations and Curriculum Framework and uses these benchmarks to create an engaging developmentally appropriate curriculum tailored to the needs of each student. An integral part of every one of our School Readiness classes is parent involvement through both classroom participation and parenting classes. Parents work and assist in the responsibilities in the classroom under the teacher’s guidance and support. Our goal is that active participation in early education will set the foundation for lifelong school involvement and strengthen family dynamics.

Registration and Attendance

Registration for the 2022-2023 schoolyear is now open.
Classes are free for all MDUSD residents.

Requirements for All Classes

  • Parents are required to have a recent TB test and have fingerprints cleared through MDUSD.
  • Parents must be fully vaccinated and show proof of Covid vaccine to volunteer in class.
  • Children's immunizations must all be current.
  • Parents are required to work in the classroom one day a week and attend all class events.
  • Parents must arrive 15 minutes before class and stay 15 minutes after for classroom preparation and clean-up on their scheduled co-op day.
  • Classes are FREE for families living within the MDUSD boundaries (otherwise fee applies).

2022-2023 School Readiness Classes

Toddler Class (16-24 months)

 Toddler Class at Loma Vista - Fridays, 9:00-11:00am
 Parents attend all classes.

Two's Class

 Two Year Old Class at Loma Vista - M,W 9:00-11:15am 
 Child must be age 2 by the first day of class.

Three's and Pre-K Combination Class (New this year)
 Children must be 3 years old by September 1st.
 All Classes are 9:00-11:30am

*Please note for the programs located at Bel Air Elem. and Fair Oaks Elem., families must live within the school boundaries. Proof of address is required.
