CTE PROGRAMS INFORMATION SESSION IS OPEN!

The CTE Programs Information Session is the first step to enrolling in the Medical Assistant Program. During this session you will learn more about the program as well as the next steps to take to enroll. 

ABOUT THE MEDICAL ASSISTANT PROGRAM

Medical Assistants are important members of health care teams, working in doctor offices, urgent care centers, and medical clinics. Our dynamic class covers both the clinical and administrative functions of the medical office.  Graduates meet the qualifying standards for the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) Medical Assistant certifying examination, which is administered on MDAE's campus.

Length of Program: 7 Months
Cost: $6,410 (approximate) - Funding options available to qualified students.  Interest-free payment plans available.
Schedule: M,T,W,TH 8:30am-3:00pm*

*Hours may vary during clinical externship.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

  • To prepare graduates for employment as medical assistants in the health care industry.
  • To prepare students to perform both clinical and clerical functions.
  • To prepare students with the academic knowledge and skill competence to qualify for the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) Medical Assistant certifying exam.
  • To prepare students to enter the workforce as critical thinkers, effective communicators who are responsible, ethical, and respectful employees.

COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS

  • Meet the attendance requirements (95%).
  • Satisfactorily complete assignments (80% min. scores).
  • Maintain an 80% average on tests.
  • Obtain a minimum of 80% on skills competency assessments.
  • Pass final examinations with 80% or better.
  • Complete the time and skills competency requirements of the clinical externship.

Completed  CTE Programs Information Session and Assessment. Provide a copy of high school diploma or equivalent and health insurance card. Completed Health Verification form and ability to pass a background check. Additional information provided at information session.
