This session is the first step to enrolling in the Administrative Assistant program. During this session you will learn more about the program as well as the next steps needed to enroll.
ABOUT THE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT PROGRAM
Administrative Assistants perform a variety of secretarial duties that are required to run an office efficiently. They schedule meetings and appointments, organize records and files, and provide clerical support to staff. They use computer software to create and edit documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. They compose messages by writing and responding to emails. Students will earn an Administrative Assistant certificate by successfully completing the following program components:
- Computer Software: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
- Google Docs/Sheets/Slides
- Quickbooks
- Business office skills
- Keyboarding
- Career readiness skills
- Externship in a business office
Length of Program: 7 Months
Cost: $3,037 - Funding options available to qualified students. Interest-free payment plans available.
Schedule: M-TH, 8:30am-12:00pm, plus additional 7 hours per week of distance learning*
*Hours may vary during office externship.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
- To provide students with opportunities to learn, update, and /or improve computer and clerical skills.
- To prepare students for positions such as entry level administrative assistant, medical office secretary, and office assistant.
- To develop employment competencies most commonly required in business offices.
COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS
To receive a certificate of completion, a student must:
- Meet minimum attendance requirements (see syllabus)
- Successfully produces assigned documents/projects with 80% competency
- Meet minimum keyboarding competency
- Successfully complete externship
