Medical Assistant
Medical Assistants are important members of health care teams who assist physicians with patients. Our dynamic class covers both the clinical and administrative functions of the medical office so that you are
cross-trained and, therefore, more employable. Graduates meet the qualifying standards for the NCCT medical assistant certifying examination. This course is Pell Grant eligible. Prerequisites: Medical Terminology and Typing Verification (35+ wpm). Program cost includes textbooks, lab materials, malpractice insurance, and uniforms.

Program Admission Requirements

Admission Requirements Medical Assistant
18 yrs of age minimum
Copy of High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent
Medical Terminology course
Typing Certificate of 35WPM net
CASAS 10th grade reading score and CASAS 9th grade math score (no charge for assessment)
Attend Orientation to Health Careers (no charge)
Verified ability to perform repetitive movements, lift 50+ lbs., and stand 4+ hrs.
Physicians Health Verification Form
Negative TB (PPD or X-ray)
Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis) w/tetanus booster every 10 years)
MMR Titer
Varicella Titer
Hepatitis B Series (3 shots)
Proof of Current Health Insurance
CPR card for Healthcare Provider
